Ukraine's Presidental Administration

Presidential Administration of Petro Poroshenko hired a BGR Group company, founded by the former chairman of the US Republican Party Committee and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, to lobby the interests of Ukraine. This follows from the documents on the website of department of registration of foreign agents (FARA), US Department of Justice, DW reports.

All individuals and firms that carry out orders of foreign governments, should report such actions and publish data about customers and contracts. BGR Group submitted relevant information to FARA on January 1, 2017. The client address in the information is "Bankova 11, Kyiv, Ukraine."

The goal of the company is "strengthening of relations between the US and Ukraine and attracting US entrepreneurs to invest in Ukraine." In late December, Barbour and BGR Group reached an agreement with Ukraine on the "design and implementation" of strategy in the areas of business development and government relations. It is also about "organization of meetings" with US officials.

According to the information provided by FARA, Ukraine will pay BGR Group 50 thousand dollars every month, at least until the end of 2017.
