The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko declared that he intends to hold a referendum on the country’s entry to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He said this in his interview to the Berliner Morgenpost.

“Four years ago only 15% of Ukrainians supported accession to NATO membership. Today it’s 54%. As a President I’m led by the will of my people and I will hold a referendum on joining the NATO. And if Ukrainians vote for it, I will do everything to gain membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization,” Poroshenko said.
