Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko instructed the Government to raise pensions this autumn, abolish taxation on them and lift all restrictions for working pensioners. This was reported by the press secretary of Ukrainian Head of State on Facebook.
“A person who retires in 2016-2017 with a high salary has a high pension. A person who retired in 2009-2010 with the same work experience, the same fees from the average wage has much smaller pension. First of all those who receive unfairly lowest pensions will get the increase as a result of this modernization,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
President also instructed to increase minimal pensions this year.
“I think we can consider an opportunity to do it not in December, but in November or even October. Please, consider this issue carefully,” he said.
Beyond that, Poroshenko requested to lift all restrictions for working pensioners and abolish taxation.
“Today, we would like pensioners to keep working. We shouldn’t drive them out of their workplaces. I consider it unjustified to limit pensions of the working pensioners and levy a tax for pensions,” the Head of State said.
