"The adoption of the resolution by UN Security Council, initiated by Ukraine, regarding protection of the objects of critical infrastructure against terrorism (almost 50 co-authors) is a significant success and contribution to strengthening Ukrainian national security," he noted.

As it was reported earlier, UN Security Council adopted the resolution (2341), initiated by Ukraine, regarding protection of critical infrastructure against terrorist attacks today.

Resolution is directed at improving the effectiveness of international efforts to counter terrorist attacks at critical infrastructure objects, particularly in terms of UN Global counterterrorist strategy.

It consists of increasing awareness of states about terrorist attacks, enhancing resistance of critical infrastructure to terrorist acts, strengthening states’ and private sector’s potential to counter terrorism, ensuring criminal responsibility for committing terrorist acts, directed at destroying critical infrastructure, enhancing international and regional cooperation, improving open exchange of information between all interested sides and law enforcement agencies.
