Poroshenko approves Convention on Manipulation of Sports Competitions

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on ratification of Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions adopted by the Verkhovna Rada. Such information was published on the site of the Parliament.

"30.11.2016 Signed by the President," the message in the status bar of the document states.

This convention signed the Minister of Youth and Sport Igor Zhdanov on behalf of Ukraine in Strasbourg (France), on December 21, 2015 aims to prevent, detect and punish manipulation of national and international sport competitions, as well as to strengthen information exchange and cooperation on both national and international levels between public authorities, sports organizations and sports betting operators. Ukraine became the 22nd State Member of European Council that has signed this important international document.

Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko allowed National TV Council to fine channels for calls for revolution.
