Police asks Kyiv City State Administration to introduce "non-alcohol policy" during Eurovision

They offer to limit sale of alcohol at "Eurotown" (Khreshchatyk) and near International Exhibition Centre

National police requested Kyiv City State Administration to limit sale of alcohol except beer in plastic packaging during Eurovision. This was reported by people’s deputy Oleksandr Pabat on Facebook.

"No drinking in Kyiv… They want the city to limit selling of alcohol drinks. This time National Police asks State Administration to adopt a decision "About prohibiting sale of beer (except beer in plastic packaging), alcoholic and low-alcoholic drinks, table wines…" for Eurovision. It was proposed to impose "prohibition" from May 4 to 15 at "Eurotown" area (Khreshchatyk) and from May 8 to 13 near International Exhibition Centre," deputy wrote.

It is noteworthy that Eurovision-2017 international song contest will be held in Ukraine at International Exhibition Centre. Semi-finals are scheduled for May 9 and 11, final for May 13.

10 thousand policemen, military officers of National Guard, State Border Guard and State Emergency Service workers will be ensuring law and order during the event.
