A number of Ukrainian providers already started blocking Russian websites under sanctions. Users are already encountering difficulties when accessing Vkontakte, Yandex and Mail.ru services.

Kyivstar and Vodafone customers are also left without access to prohibited websites. Even Yandex.Maps and navigator are not working on the mobile phones.

As it was reported earlier, on May 16, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko signed the decree banning major Russian web portals and social networks in Ukraine; Yandex.ru, Vk.com, Odnoklassniki.ru users in Ukraine will lose their accounts and will have no access to the respective websites.

Beyond that, the Internet Association of Ukraine requested the President of Ukraine, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine to explain how to execute the decree regarding sanctions against the Russian services within the legislation.
