Norway supports keeping anti-Russian sanctions

Oslo condemns any international law violation and stresses the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia to fully implement Minsk agreements. This was announced by the state secretary of the Norway Foreign Ministry Marit Merger Resland, reports the press service the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

Norway’s position on support of Ukraine in preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity remains unchanged.

During the Ukraine-Norwegian consultations the sides noted high activity of bilateral partnership.

Norwegian side have also positively assessed the state of implementation of systemic reforms in Ukraine and confirmed further interest in providing practical assistance to Ukraine in this sphere.

The head of Ukrainian delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister Vadym Prystayko expressed interest in Norwegian experience in building relationship with the European Union.

The sides have discussed cooperation within NATO.

It is also reported that Norway will continue to support projects of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine’ population, that suffered from the Russian aggression.

Earlier it was reported that Norway accused Russia of trying to influence Nobel Committee decision. Russia called such statements paranoia.
