The head of NBU hopes that the timely adoption of the 2017 budget will accelerate the completion of the third revision of the program and receiving the next tranche from the IMF

National Bank of Ukraine welcomes the completion of the mission of the International Monetary Fund as part of the third revision of the program of cooperation between Ukraine and international organizations. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank on Facebook.

"The National Bank continues to fulfill its obligations under the program of cooperation with the IMF. During the visit of the mission to Kyiv, NBU had a fruitful dialogue with representatives of the Fund, aimed at tightening the monetary policy of the central bank under the regime of inflation targeting and refinement of further ways of improvement of the banking system,” the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Hontareva said.

Hontareva expressed hope that the timely adoption of the 2017 budget will accelerate the completion of the third review of the program and receiving the next tranche from the IMF, which will replenish international reserves and, consequently, will enhance financial stability in the state.

“At the same time we support the IMF’s call for further structural reforms in the country, needed for providing the sustainable growth of Ukrainian economy,” – Hontareva emphasized.
