The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini believes that Minsk deals are a good argument to release all Ukrainians detained in the Russian Federation, it is said in Mogherini’s comment on the verdict delivered in Nadia Savchenko’s case, informed press service of the EU office in Ukraine.
“Yesterday guilty verdict was delivered to Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko, despite countless appeals. We continue to join world-wide appeals and encourage Russian authorities to release Nadia Savchenko immediately and unconditionally. This should be done in accordance with Minsk deals and commitments it presupposes regarding release of detainees linked to the conflict in eastern Ukraine”, - Mogherini commented.
Mogherini also mentions that Minsk agreements presuppose release of all Ukrainian citizens illegally detained in Russia, including Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko. According to Mogherini, Russia must guarantee their free return to Ukraine.
