Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv hands in a notice of suspicion to one of Kyiv’s University Vice-Chancellor on embezzling over 27,000 USD from the city budget, according to Kyiv Prosecutor's Office website.

Prosecutor's Office informs that the perpetrator illegally raised the sums paid for people with disabilities, orphans and children from low-income families in the documents. Subsequently based on these documents the university was funded with more than 27,000 USD of excessive money from the city budget.

The Chief Accountant and Vice-Chancellor is suspected under Part 1 of Article 366 (Forgery in Office), and Part 5 of Article 191 (Misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion or property by malversation in an especially gross amount) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The suspect is on bail for 12,000 USD. Moreover, an inquiry for her removal from office was filed to the court.

The investigation on other university officials as to the embezzlement of the sum is under way.
