Head of Press Service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Yurchilo gave the details on upcoming military exercises in Kherson region on the border with the annexed Crimea, which will be held on December 1-2, in his commentary for "Interfax-Ukraine.”
In terms of the exercise, the trials of guided anti-aircraft medium-range missiles will be held "entirely in Ukrainian airspace over the high seas." It should be noted that Kyiv does not recognize the annexation of Crimea, therefore, the peninsula area is officially a part of Ukrainian airspace.
"The exercises will be held on December 1-2, in which the test of controlled anti-aircraft medium-range missiles will be carried out. The crews of combat aircraft, transport aircraft, a division of anti-aircraft missile troops, radar troops and communications, as well as unmanned aircraft will be involved in the event. One of the elements of the exercise will be air shooting - guided medium-range missiles ... strictly in Ukrainian airspace over the high seas, they will be carried out in accordance with the international law.”
