Groysman: Ukraine to gain energy independence in medium-term perspective

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman believes, that Ukraine can obtain energy independence in medium-term perspective. He informed about it at a the forum of energy efficiency, aired by “112 Ukraine”.

“From now on, we start to increase extraction of our own gas. Whereas our predecessors aimed at switching from Russian to European gas, our task is to reach energy independence of Ukraine. We have enough of our own resources and possibilities in order to become completely independent in terms of energy, to develop alternative sources of energy. I believe, we can achieve this in medium-term perspective. I believe the right measures the government is exerting to, will help everyone who requires social protection and will help obtain energy independence”, - Groysman stated.

It has been reported, that starting May 1, new higher gas prices for population have been introduced in Ukraine.
