Pranker Vitalii Sediuk, who mooned the crowd live at Eurovision final on stage, was detained by police and taken to the temporary detention facility. This was reported by Arsen Avakov, the Interior Minister of Ukraine, on his Facebook page.
"Sediuk is a Ukrainian citizen. According to him, he decided to realize his hobby during Jamala’s performance, as he is "unofficially working as provocative journalist". He was detained by the contest’s security with the participation of police, he was also resisting arrest," minister commented on the occurrence.
The pranker is detained for 72 hours. The court should choose restrictive measure for him on May 15, Avakov informed.
According to the minister, Sediuk is charged with part 3 of Article 296 (hooliganism with aggravated consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, punishment may be from a penalty up to 5 years in prison.
"Meanwhile this embarrassment of the country can realize his "hobby" in the temporary holding facility. However, I would not recommend showing his butt to anyone there," Avakov added.
