European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE Committee) will hold a meeting for the consideration of the decision on visa liberalization for Ukraine today at 12:30 local time. This was reported by the journalist Hryhoriy Zhyhalov on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“Judging from the moods, there will be no problems on today’s decision-making for EU-Ukraine visa-free regime. According to our predictions, the draft of the resolution that include Ukraine into the list of countries who are granted visa-free regime with EU will be supported by a considerable number of the Committee members,” the journalist said.
“It is obvious that there will be voices “against”, bit it is unlikely that opponents’ number will be enough to block the decision. European Union has agreed on almost all nuances of the visa-free regime with Ukraine,” he added.
European Parliament will vote for the decision on April 5, EU Council will vote on May 11. Then, Ukraine citizens will no longer need visas for short trips to Europe starting from June 11.
Earlier it was reported that EP and EC unanimously support visa-free regime with Ukraine. Press attache of the EU delegation in Ukraine said it will be a "very quick decision".
