The meeting of the Trilateral group will take place today in Brussels, where the representatives of the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission will discuss the introduction of visa-free suspension mechanism.  This is reported by the correspondent of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

The representatives of all three EU institutions will attend the meeting.

During the last EU meeting the issue of responsibilities distribution during the implementation of the procedure has been decided and the document was agreed by 99%.

But now political issues it prevent its adoption.

"For example, France wants to freeze the process until the elections bypass in the country (Presidential elections in France are in April 2017 - Ed.) to make sure that certain candidates do not speculate on visa-free regime," the correspondent said.

The meeting results should be known within a few hours.

As we know, the visa-free regime for Ukraine should take force simultaneously with the adoption of a new mechanism for its suspension.

The deputy of the European Parliament from Lithuania Petras Auštrevičius believes that the EU creates additional obstacles for visa-free regime with Ukraine.
