The Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan inspected the construction of the Beskydy tunnel during his visit to Zakarpattia region. This was written on his Facebook page.
“I was at the construction site of Beskydy tunnel this morning. The works are going according to schedule, and by the end of next year we plan to test the train. The Beskydy tunnel is the first significant element of Ukraine's transit transport infrastructure, and I am personally delighted that the works are going on that Ukraine is implementing a truly ambitious project,” Omelyan said.
The tunnel will be equipped with modern devices operational and emergency lighting, ventilation, video surveillance, control sensors that determine the level of harmful gases, as well as constant monitoring of the internal conditions, fire safety equipment and anti-corrosion protection system.
Construction works of the Beskydy tunnel are scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2018.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrzaliznytsia announced completion of Beskydy tunnel construction. The tunnel should become a transit bridge between China and Europe.
