Authorities of the National Police of Ukraine decided to remove from service former Berkut special forces soldiers who are suspected of crimes on Euromaidan (December 2013 - February 2014) during the investigation. This was announced by the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

The possibility of the defendants’ reinstatement will be decided by the Higher Attestation Commission and Police Commission after the court verdict.

Today, November 30, is the anniversary of "beating of students" on Euromaidan after which the protests became widespread. On November 30, around 4:10am Berkut forcefully dispersed student protesters at the Independence Square who stood in support of the European integration policy of Ukraine. As a result four people got injured moderately, and another 38 lightly.

Earlier it was reported that in order to question the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych on November 28, a video call with the ex-Berkut policemen, suspected of shooting Maidan protesters, may be established from Lukyanivska Prison.
