The Security Service of Ukraine hopes for the progress in negotiations on hostage release issue on the territories beyond the its control. In particular this issue will be raised during the Munich Security Conference (MSC). Yuriy Tandit, the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, commented that in his interview to 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"I hope that Russia will finally wake up to reality and does everything to achieve results in hostage release issue. We are ready for any compromise. I am sure that any negotiations to be held in the nearest future will bring us some results. It’s not about just talking, we are ready to get results,” announced Tandit.
The Munich Security Conference takes place in Germany on February 17 – 19. The participants will discuss a number of key security issues including the situation in Ukraine. Last year the Normandy talks took place in the frames of the Security Conference.
President Poroshenko intends to meet the U.S. Vice President Mike Pence at the conference. Apart from that Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Jens Stoltenberg was reported to meet wih Poroshenko on February 18.
As it was reported earlier, the SBU previously declared 110 hostages and 490 missing.
