Ukraine and the European Commission signed the agreement about joint funding of operational programs in trans-border cooperation area. The four projects directly involving Ukraine, Belarus and several EU member countries are totally worth 365 million Euros. Ukraine’s ministry for trade and economic development reported that on Monday.
The signature ceremony took place in Brussels. Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv and Eastern Partnership’s department director Lawrence Meredith signed the document.
The four initiatives in the area of trans-border cooperation are operating since 2014 and will be running till 2020, as part of the European Neighborhood Instrument.
The document foresees cooperation in such areas as environmental protection, border control and safety, migration management, use of renewable energy sources, development of entrepreneurship, small and medium businesses, support of education, scientific researches, technical innovations, saving historical and cultural heritage and others.
