There are the last steps for Ukraine and Georgia to the visa liberalization with the European Union. The President of the European Council Donald Tusk wrote about this on Twitter.

"Almost there. Visa suspension mechanism dispute over. Now the final stretch towards visa free travel for Ukraine and Georgia", reads the message.


Earlier it was reported that the Committee of Permanent Representatives of EU countries confirmed the compromise text agreed with the European Parliament regarding the revision of the regulation mechanism of suspension of visa-free regime on December 7.

The main aim of the revised regulation is to strengthen the mechanism for the suspension of the visa-free regime.

Recall, the official website of the European Parliament hosted a forecast according to which the consideration of the suspension mechanism for visa-free regime will be held on January 18, 2017.
