Netherlands do not stop the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and the consultations will continue until November 1. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote this on Facebook.

"The final date of the consultations on the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on the results of the referendum in the Netherlands was established on November 1. Many skeptics, and not only in Ukraine, expect that today will be announced a decision on the closure of the ratification of the Agreement by the Netherlands", he said.

The President recalled that in recent days he was able to conduct intensive negotiations with EU partners. In particular, he had a dozen phone calls, including the President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, as well as with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.

Note, according to the presidential press service, a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte was today. Rutte assured Poroshenko that the Netherlands did not stop the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and will continue consultations.

"Everyone needs to remember that the Association Agreement, the development of which I personally am honored to be involved in, has not only economic and political significance, but also symbolic because it is the epitome of the development of Ukraine and its progress and compass of our reforms. Netherlands do not stop the ratification and will continue consultations", Poroshenko concluded.

Earlier, the official said the government would most likely not ratify the agreement between the EU and Ukraine, taking into account the April referendum results, where two-thirds of the voters said ‘no’ to the ratification of the agreement.
