Ernst Reichel, the German Ambassador in Kyiv, shouldn't have said what he said about the elections on the occupied territories. Roland Freudenstein, Director and Head of Research at the Wilfried Martens said that in his exclusive comments to 112.international.
"Politically it's completely clear that free elections cannot be held under the gunpoint of Russian weapons. He [Ernst Reichel] should not hide behind some kind of diplomatic or legal formulas. He should just take back what he said," Roland Freudenstein told.
As we reported, earlier this week Ernst Reichel voiced his position on Donbas status and holding elections in occupied territories, which triggered strong reaction from Ukrainian politicians.
