According to Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan, the Agreement on Common Aviation Area between Ukraine and EU may be signed in July 2016, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We have a serious issue of signing the Agreement with the EU. We’ve got a new date from Brussels – July 2016. This will be the last date in which I will believe, after that I will draw the EU’s attention to that fact that words must be kept”, - he said at Ukrainian Infrastructure Forum in Kyiv on Friday. ”
As reported earlier, in May 2015 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko charged then-acting Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi to sign the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and its member countries on Common Aviation Area. But, accoding to Pyvovarskyi, signing of the Agreement is impossible without resolving the conflict between Great Britain and Spain on Gibraltar, and Ukraine is not entitled to pass any unilateral resolutions on this subject.
