The issue of EU-Ukraine visa free regime can be voted in the European Parliament even before the EU-Ukraine Summit on November 24. Maria Gabriel, the rapporteur and member of the European Parliament, said this as quoted by DW.

‘The Council of Europe will have to make their decision at first; then, negotiations between the major EU institutions will take place – between the European Commission, the European parliament and the Council of Europe. ‘We got certain signals of strong political support from some leaders of states and friends of Ukraine, which will, I hope, have impact on the Council of Europe and their vote in favor of the rightful decision for Ukrainian citizens,’ Gabriel said.

According to her, after the Council of Europe makes their decision, the European parliament will have their plenary session, which kicks off November 21. ‘It is when, theoretically, the time will come to make the ultimate decision,’ the MEP said.
