Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin expressed hope that the European Union will approve the mechanism to respond to the risks of migration, which is essential for granting Ukraine visa-free regime in the near future. He said this in a comment to 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"As the mandate of the EU Council on the negotiations of the European Commission and European Parliament has been given, in fact it is already set straight, because all the key EU institutions are now clearly sure that we have fulfilled all obligations. The process of preparation of legislative proposals is just a matter of time. Of course, I hope that the EU will approve a mechanism to respond to migration risks. I also see there are certain steps forward and we hope that the EU is able to do so in the near future. So it's very positive news", Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
Recall, the ambassadors of EU countries approved the beginning of the discussion of visa liberalization for Ukraine. They noted that the entry into force of the visa-free regime for Ukraine should take place simultaneously with the entry into force of the new mechanism of its cancellation.
Note, previously the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU will be introduced as a mechanism to respond to the risks of migration will be created.
