France, Germany and Belgium slow down visa-free regime for Ukrainians, - source

Allegedly they want to postpone the provision of visa-free regime until the elections in the countries mentioned above – at least spring 2017

Some of the EU countries are blocking visa liberalization with EU for Ukrainians: first of all France, Germany and Belgium. Ukrinform reports with reference to “high-position interlocutor in diplomatic circles”.

Judging by the citation, interlocutor is a Ukrainian representative. He says that these countries use any opportunity to slow down visa-free regime provision.

“Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria for visa-free regime, but some of the EU countries are not interested in our progress. First of all, I am speaking about France, Germany and Belgium, which try to find any hitch to use it as a reason to not provide visa-free regime for Ukraine,” source said.

He names migration crisis in EU as a reason for such policy.
