EU-Ukraine visa-free regime to come into force after elections in France

Elections will be held in spring, Ukraine Foreign Ministry notes

The decision on granting Ukraine the visa-free regime with the European Union will be made before the elections in France and will come into force after it. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Deputy Head Olena Zerkal said this in an interview to Evropeyska Pravda.

"According to our timeline of moving towards the visa-free regime, I can assure that the final decision on it will be made before the Presidential elections in France, but will take effect not earlier than after them", Zerkal said.

The first tour of the Presidential elections in France will be held on April 23, and the second on May 7, 2017.

As it was reported earlier, the European Parliament postponed the considering of the visa-free regime with Ukraine issue until April 2017.
