Turkish police has detained another suspect in the murder case of Andrey Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey. This was reported by Turkish "Anadolu" agency.
It is informed that the detained person had earlier contacted the murderer of Russian Ambassador - Mevlut Altintas.
Ankara court earlier decided to arrest two detained people on Karlov’s murder case, another two were released on their own recognizance. Two policemen were involved in the case.
As 112 International reported, 22-year-old Mevlut Mert Altintas shot dead Andrey Karlov, the Russian ambassador in Turkey. The incident took place in Ankara on December 19, 2016, as the diplomat was holding a speech at the ‘Russia as seen by Turks’ exhibition. Altintas, disguised as a guard, shot the ambassador from behind, saying: ‘Remember Aleppo, remember Syria. We won’t leave you alone. Only death stops me. We die in Aleppo, you die here.’ The Turkish police killed him on the spot, having accidentally wounded another three people during the special operation.
