The IOC (International Olympic Committee) supported the decision of the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations), which disqualified the All-Russian Federation of Athletics and suspended Russian athletes from participation in international competitions. This was said at the IOC summit in Lausannne, Switzerland (RIA Novosti).

Commenting on the issue, IOC President Thomas Bach supported the idea to revise access for every Russian and Kenyan athlete individually. The anti-doping services in these countries are considered as not in line with the code of the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).  ‘The athletes from these countries should have their right for presumption of innocence. Every one of them should be allowed for participation on the individual basis and under the common procedure. They have to get an individual permission and pass the respective tests in the certified labs, ’ Bach said.
