Invictus Games to take place in Kyiv

Traffic will be limited for all transport on Trukhanivska street and partially on Khreshchatyk street on April 21-24

National Competition Invictus Games will take place in Kyiv on April 21-24. Due to this, the traffic on Trukhanivska street and partially on Khreshchatyk street will be limited for all transport. Such order was signed by the Kyiv Mayor Volodymyr Klychko. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv city state administration.

The traffic on Trukhanivska street will be blocked from 00:00 to 17:00 on April 22 and on Khreshchatyk street – from 12:00 of April 21 to 6:00 of April 24, according to the message.

The sports part of the Invictus Games will be held from 00:00 to 17:00 on April 22 at Trukhanivska street. The solemn part of the event - a concert of the National Competition will be held from 00:00 to 22:00 on April 23 on Khreshchatyk street.

Invictus Games is the international sports competition for servicemen and veterans with disabilities, which they received during the military service. Teams from NATO member countries and from strategic partners of the Alliance participate in the competitions. First such competition was held in 2014 in London.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will participate in Invictus Games 2017. Ukraine has received confirmation from the organizers of the games.

"Ukraine will have the right and already has all the confirmation from the organizers of the games to take part in sports competitions for those who had been injured during the war and has the ability to express themselves in these games in 2017," Klympush-Tsintsadze said.
