Mauro Tassotti, Assistant Manager of AC Milan, left his team to side with another seasoned member of the Italian club (Gazzetta dello Sport). Thus, 56-year-old coach is to follow his onetime teammate and work with him again. Another ex-Milan official, Andrea Maldera, will join the team of Shevchenko’s aides in Ukraine’s national team.
Ukrainian journalists and football experts have been repeatedly saying Andriy Shevchenko, currently serving as the assistant manager in the national team, is most likely to chair the Yellow Blues in the near future. The official presentation of Ukraine’s coach, however, is yet to take place on July 15.
Mauro Tassotti spent 17 years playing for Milan and another 19 years as a coach. He served as assistant manager of all head coaches in 2001-2016.
Andriy Shevchenko, the famous football forward, defended the colors of Milan in 1999-2006 (226 caps, 127 goals). In 1995-2012, he played for the national team of Ukraine (111 caps, 48 goals).
