The recent friendly game between national teams of Ukraine and Malta is recognized an unofficial one; therefore, it will have no impact on the current FIFA ranking. The Association’s press service reported that on Friday, June 9.

Earlier this week, Malta defeated Ukraine in the friendly game (0-1). Andriy Shevchenko's team made ten substitutions, which evoked FIFA's objections.

‘The game cannot be viewed as the official game between national teams; no more than six substitutions can be used in such games, which is mentioned in the official rules of the game’, the press service said.

The FIFA official website did not include the game into the list of the official matches that took place on June 6.

On June 11, Ukraine will face Finland in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
