Shakhtar Donetsk and Chinese Jiangsu Suning made a deal on the transfer of Brazilian Alex Teixeira. Serhiy Palkin, CEO of the Ukrainian club, said this on February 5 (shakhtar.com).

“Alex Teixeira leaves our club. Shakhtar and Jiangsu Suning made an unprecedented deal, so far the largest one in the history of Ukrainian and Chinese football. The transfer sum totaled 50 million Euros. I’m grateful for Alex’s professionalism and his bright, effective performance he has been showing in Shakhtar for the last six years. Thank you, Alex!”, Palkin wrote on his Facebook page.

Previously, Teixeira received offers from Liverpool and Chelsea; however, the management of the Ukrainian club turned down both.

Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixieira joined the Ukrainian team in December 2009. In his six years’ long career in Shakhtar, he scored 89 goals in 223 matches.
