In quite dramatic struggle for the semifinals, Wales, Portugal, Germany and France proved to be the ones who made it. The Welsh outplayed Belgium (3-1); Portugal beat Poland in the penalty shootout (5-3); Joachim Löw’s Bundesteam sent home Antonio Conte’s Squadra Azzurra – also winning the penalty series (7-6); and France defeated the amazingly beautiful national team of Iceland (5-2), with supporters of both teams enjoying the most spectacular match at this competition so far.

In the semifinals, Gareth Bale’s squad will stand up against Ronaldo and his teammates in Lyon on July 6. The next day, Germany, the incumbent world champions, will cross swords with Les Bleus, who are also eager to triumph at the home Euro 2016.
