Marseille hosted the first quarterfinal game at Euro 2016; the match full of intense struggle, individual mastery of players and nice teamwork. The Poles scored a quick goal only 2 minutes into the game, but failed to keep the score that way as the Portuguese equalized at 33’.
Both teams had enough moments to lead the way once again, but even extra time was not enough to make it so. In penalty shootout, Portugal placed all five balls into the net, while Poland made only three of them: Polish midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski made it easy enough for goalkeeper Rui Patricio to parry the shot. Ricardo Quaresma scored the next shot for his team, sending it to the semifinals.
