Ukrainians bring flowers to French embassy

President Poroshenko expressed sympathies with French people due to Nice attack

‘People bring flowers to the building of the French embassy. Two youngsters were the first ones to lay flowers at about 2 a.m. Passers-by come closer, asking what’s the matter. Acting Press Secretary of French Embassy in Ukraine said the official statement on the incident will be released later today’, said correspondent of 112 Ukraine TV channel.    

President Poroshenko almost immediately reacted to the tragedy in Nice. His late tweet (at about 2 a.m. Kyiv time) said he was ‘shocked’ upon the terrorist act. The Head of the Ukrainian state expressed sympathies to the close ones of the victims. The tweet features image of the French flag with the line on it saying 'Peace will win. Fear fill lose'.
