At the airport in the German city Leipzig a plane An-225 “Mriya” experienced engine fire while doing a commercial flight. It was stated by the press-secretary of the airport, Leipziger Volkszeitung writes.

As informed by the witnesses, the incident took place when plane arrived on the landing strip. The reason for this was an incomplete tightness of the shut-off valve, as informed in Antonov State Company. However, as it was reported on official Antonov Company facebook page, the plane is not damaged and is ready for the next flights.

Nine fire brigades arrived in order to eliminate a fire, which managed to do that in 15 minutes. Presently the experts are trying to clarify when “Mriya” will be able to continue its flight.

An-225 “Mriya”, designed by Antonov Design Bureau, today is the biggest and the most powerful transport plane in the world.
