Turkish law enforcers detained Ukrainian citizen with 82 capsules of cocaine in his stomach. The incident took place at Ataturk international airport; Haberegider reported that on April 20.

Viktor Shuplyak appeared to have arrived in Istanbul from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The man turned the policemen’s attention with his unordinary behavior and red eyes. They detained him and took him to a hospital, where doctors took the cocaine capsules out of his stomach – totally 728 grams.

Shuplyak carried another 18 capsules in his bag. The total weight of the seized cocaine capsules made 940 grams.   

The drug courier agreed to ship the cargo to Ukraine for USD 3,000; he said he never took drugs before. During the interview, Shuplyak added he felt sorry about what he did.

Under the Turkish laws, the Ukrainian may face from 30 to 45 years behind the bars.
