Ukraine’s Prosecutor General named cities with highest criminal rate

There are 362 000 cases of the seizure of another's property. Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions among the rest

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced that the highest rate of thefts is in Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. He announced that during today’s meeting of the General Prosecutors Office.

According to Lutsenko, 68% of the offences are the property crimes.

“The property crimes rate has increased by 12% over the last year. There are 362 000 cases of the seizure of another's property. Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions lead in this index. The negative trend is continuing for the third dyear in a row,” he said.

Lutsenko announced that the number of crimes against person, serious bodily injuries and the like is decreasing during last three years.

“I link this with a great amount of armament of the population and a high rate of property seizure orientation,” he explained.
