Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry urged to join a campaign to support Oleg Sentsov, Ukrainian filmmaker detained in Russia, on Thursday, July 13, on the day of his birthday. Foreign Ministry reports that on their Facebook page.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine invites you to join #FreeSentsov rally, come to the building of the MFA (1 Mykhailivska square) and make a photo near the installation in Sentsov’s honor, post it in social media using #FreeSentsov hashtag in order to encourage his morale. We can remind that we remember him and fight for his release,” urges the ministry.

The installation called “Freedom” is a chair of a filmmaker. It is installed in the building of the MFA and “every international delegation visiting the ministry can see it and know about Sentsov,” adds the message.

As we reported earlier, Russia refused to repatriate Ukrainians Oleg Sentsov and Olexandr Kolchenko to Ukraine yet again pointing out that Sentsov and Kolchenko both have Russian citizenship, while Ukraine and Russia never signed any document to regulate the double citizenship issue.
