Ex-leader of Ukrainian foreign intelligence Mykola Malomuzh shared his view on the high profile murder of Arsen Pavlov a.k.a. Motorola. One of the leaders of Russia-backed militants in Donetsk region, Motorola was killed in a residential building on October 16.
‘Our special services do not actually use such methods of terror. And since such operation took place amidst the military actions, it was quite justified, of course. As of now, we have certain information about serious disputes between Motorola and other members of the illegal armed units. Previously, he survived several attempts on assassination and was wounded several times. So there are actually two version of what happened. Perhaps this was some domestic showdown – maybe something approved by their counselors from Moscow. On the other hand, some of Ukrainian patriots or agents of our special services could be involved, too. But that’s not likely since we don’t have such powerful system of counteracting terrorism abroad,’ Malomuzh said.
