Ukraine honoured the memory of Holodomor victims by minute of silence.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged fellow citizens to honor the memory of Holodomor victims, noting that such a terrible crime against the Ukrainian people today encourage them even more to protect their future.

Recall, on November 26, 2016 Ukraine and the world honor the memory of Holodomor victims. Each year, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory presents a special theme to highlight a particular aspect of the Holodomor tragedy of 1932-1933. The slogan of the current commemorative events is "Holodomor has not broke us."

The main events will take place in the capital, but authorities urged Ukrainians to go to the memorials in their cities, or to light a candle at home. All-Ukrainian action "Light a Candle" in memory of victims of Holodomor began at 16:00.
