The UEFA inspection will arrive in Kyiv in July. They will come to choose the locations for the execution of the events of the final competition of the 2017-2018 UEFA Champions League. Gennadiy Plis, the first deputy of the chairman of Kyiv City State Administration reported this, according to the press service of the City Administration.
‘One of the locations that will be checked over is Khreshchatyk, the next two are the Sofiivska and Mykhailivscka Squares and the third is the Expo Center of Ukraine’, he said. Plis also added that the city already began the preparations to the UEFA Champions League that will take place in May 2018.
The official emphasized that the football match will excel on the scale the Eurovision 2017 that also took place in Kyiv. ‘For example, the 200 million of people watched the broadcast of the Eurovision and 600 million watched the Champions League. 20 thousand of tourists came to visit the Eurovision and at least 60 thousand will come to visit the Champions League. We have to organize 600 flights in Boryspil airport, offload of people and one thousand of the buses to transport them. And after the match, these buses should bring the people back. Everything should be organized flawlessly’, Plis noticed.
The deputy of Kyiv Mayor claimed that the city will not need the additional funds to execute the football event.
The UEFA Champions League will take place in Kyiv on May 26, 2017. The match will be hosted at NSC Olimpiyskiy. The city already began to prepare for the conduction of the play. Earlier, it was reported that 170 thousand of fans are expected to come to Kyiv.
