Tajikistan may resume death penalty

State’s Prosecutor General votes for its application to punish terrorists and perpetrators of serious crimes

The Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rakhmon called for the death penalty for the perpetrators of serious crimes and terrorism, TASS agency reports.

"I am a supporter of the death penalty in the country for some categories of criminals", Prosecutor General said.

According to him, it would be possible to apply the sentence to the death penalty  to persons who have committed murder with special cruelty, and a few people, including terrorists, traitors, and people who have committed a coup attempt.
