The opposition in Syria announced that it would consider a ceasefire agreement "null and void", if the forces of Bashar Assad and his allies continue to violate it. It is reported by Reuters.
Russia, which supports Assad, called on the UN to agree to the fragile truce, the third this year, due to which they are trying to put an end at almost six years of war in Syria. After the armistice (midnight on December 30 - Ed.) in certain areas parts of conflicy continue clashes and air strikes, but according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Council today truce in large part is observed.
"Long-term violations of the regime, including bombing and attempts to attack areas under the control of revolutionary factions can make the agreement null and void", - says the Syrian opposition.
It is also noted that the government forces and their allies are active in the area of Damascus.
Let us remind, on December 29, it was reported that Russia and Turkey have agreed on a plan for a comprehensive ceasefire in Syria. The agreement should cover all areas of fightings, and the parties of the conflict were asked to stop fighting from 00:00 on 29 December.
