Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced that the crime rate in most of the Ukrainian cities is a source of big concern. He said that during today’s meeting of the General Prosecutors Office, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
According to him, the major reasons of the increase in crime are war, unemployment, disorganization of the law enforcement bodies.
“In this very succession. This stipulates the rise in crime. Last year 1 124 401 criminal proceedings were registered. The number of proceedings with the basis of inquiry has also increased by 5%, this makes 600 000 proceedings per year. The increase is registered in Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv regions,” Lutsenko said.
Yuriy Lutsenko also said that the highest rate of thefts is in Kyiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
