Ukraine’s Hydrometeorological Centre reported that road movement in Kyiv is restricted due to snowstorms hovering over the Ukrainian capital on January 25.
Meanwhile, about 90 million Americans suffered tough weather conditions. Authorities of 11 states announced the state of emergency; in Washington, road traffic was closed, and in New York, a 24-hour-long ban was introduced to drive cars in streets, bridges and underground tunnels. City halls of Washington, New Jersey and New York urged residents to restrain from going outside.
The blizzards in the U.S. led to fatalities among the locals. In the country’s eastern states, 30 people lost their lives, mainly because of car accidents, hyperthermia, heart attacks suffered during snow clearing works and poisoning with carbon monoxide.
Despite the vexing statistics and human casualties due to severe snowstorms, both Americans and Ukrainians found a way to enjoy the weather. 112 International prepared a video with snowboarders in both countries having a lot of fun riding through snowy streets.
