Pavlo Sheremet, the Ukrainian reporter who perished today in Kyiv, died after the vehicle explosion. His death was not immediate, an eyewitness reported as quoted by TSN.

Upon the explosion, a waiter working in a nearby restaurant fled to the car and saw that Sheremet was still alive; however, his legs were badly stuck inside the wrecked vehicle.

The journalist passed away in the ambulance, soon after medics took him out of the car and took him to the hospital.
