The Security Service of Ukraine (the SBU) has information on provocations and even terrorist attacks being prepared for the Independence Day. However, the service is working in full force in order to ensure safe celebration, as Head of the SBU Vasyl Grytsak said in a video message on Facebook.
“We have plenty of material, informing that there are bad people or groups, who are preparing to spoil the celebration by different means. There’s even information about planned terrorist attacks. But we have good cooperation, information exchange with the National Police, National Guard. Every day we have joint meetings – morning reports at 9 am and evening ones after midnight. Believe me, the SBU will do everything in our power to ensure that Ukrainian citizens, and foreigners who are in Ukraine now, have a safe celebration,” he said.
As it was reported earlier, 4,500 servicemen are to participate in the Independence Day parade, including 231 soldiers from other countries.
